A direct loan to a company, with the interest paid to you every month.
Your loan agreement is directly with the borrowing company. Afranga earns its money by charging the borrowing companies, not investors.
Example: €10,000 in SaveSmart for 12 months at 10% a year, before tax.
The rate is fixed. The outcome is not.
Pick SaveSmart or the Primary Market, set your amount and term, and see the interest you would earn each month and at maturity.
The smallest amount you can invest is €10.
SaveSmart rates are a year, before tax, fixed for the term and current; they are not guaranteed for future terms. Interest is paid monthly, and a term can run up to one calendar month longer. Nothing here assumes reinvesting.
On the Primary Market you pick individual loans, each with its own rate and term, so these are examples rather than offers: what is available changes. Rates are a year, before tax. Interest starts once a loan is fully funded, is paid every month, and the full original amount comes back at the end. Nothing here assumes reinvesting.
About €83.33 a month before tax · Original amount returned at maturity · Withholding tax is deducted before interest reaches your wallet

Interest is paid monthly to your Afranga wallet, after withholding tax has been deducted. The invested principal is repaid in full at the end of the investment term. With SaveSmart, the principal can instead be reinvested automatically for a new term if you enable the "Re-invest" option. On the Primary Market you reinvest manually.
Amount × yearly rate × number of days ÷ 365, so a 31-day month pays slightly more than a 30-day one. On the Primary Market, interest starts once a loan is fully funded. Every payment appears in your Account Statement.
No. Your investment is not a deposit - it is a private loan made through Afranga and carries investment risk. It is not covered by deposit guarantee schemes, as bank deposits typically are.
Established lending companies that raise money on Afranga to fund their own business, each named in the loan's fact sheet. SaveSmart currently invests in loans to one of them, Stikcredit; on the Primary Market you choose the loans yourself. Your loan agreement is always directly with the borrowing company.
There is no buyback and no automatic refund. Afranga chases the money and can take legal action, but recovery is not guaranteed. You could get back less than you put in, or nothing.
Yes, however multiple investments with the same parameters made on the same day may be grouped. Limits may apply to prevent excessive fragmentation.
The rate is fixed for the term you invest in. Rates are current and not guaranteed for future terms.
From SaveSmart, yes. You can withdraw up to 30% of your SaveSmart investment before maturity, up to a maximum of €5,000. If 30% of your investment comes to less than €100, you can still withdraw up to €100, as long as you have at least €100 invested. A 1% fee applies to every early withdrawal.
On the Primary Market you can list an active loan on the Secondary Market; it sells if another investor buys it.
Withholding tax is deducted from the interest before it reaches your wallet. Whether you owe anything more depends on where you live, and the rules differ by country. We give you the statements you need; for your own situation, check with a tax adviser.
Your loan agreement is directly with the lending company and stays valid. An appointed administrator keeps the loans running and the borrower carries on repaying on the original schedule. Your uninvested and repaid money stays in your separate Lemonway account.
Adults resident in the European Economic Area. You will go through an identity check when you open the account, and a short questionnaire about your experience - that is part of the rules we follow as a licensed provider.
